MORE WOMEN AND PEOPLE OF COLOR NEEDED IN THIS CRYPTO SPACE! Who do you know?

I recently found out that women make up just 6% of the blockchain industry (that includes developers, investors, and casual users), but I’d like to believe that’s changing. Twice as many men as women invest in cryptocurrency. A Pew Research Center survey showed that about 19% of women ages 18 to 29 say they have invested in, traded or used a cryptocurrency. That is, compared with 43% of men in the same age range.😳

History tells us that at the very beginning, in the very early days of any industry those are often the times when the big money is made. There are huge fortunes being made right now even in the middle of what most call the “crypto crash of 2022.” The thing about fortune-makers in any industry is that because they are the big-money people, they are allowed to choose the direction of the industry, they tend to influence where the industry is going next, what it’s going to do, and what they should build next.

So the absence of women in this space at this time is not a good thing; the industry is at a crucial disadvantage without the big money and the big voices of women. We need more women in the cryptocurrency field. Women need to be a part of the crypto influencers as well; we will make marks here in this space that will never ever be erased!

Women collectively have a unique tone, we have distinct voices, and an exclusive way of seeing and addressing situations that most definitely will bring great value to the crypto space. If we’re not occupying that space en masse, in my opinion, the world will be missing out on a really good thing!

It’s not just women either. It’s the women as well as people of color. We need to be part of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency so we can build together. The fintech (financial technology) world needs us! The next move in financial spaces can be built through the influence, knowledge, and wisdom of us all, but right now there are huge gaps in diversity.

Let’s change that! Invite more women, people of color, and fintech professionals to join this crypto and blockchain space. Diversity is absolutely necessary, and communication is beneficial. We can change tomorrow by making it more diverse. Who do you know that is already good in the fintech field, or who would be good at fintech, cryptocurrency, and making money digitally?
