FRIDAY RECAP, WHAT DID WE LEARN THIS WEEK?

Here’s our recap for this week. We talked about Crypto Exchanges and how they work; Researching Bitcoin and ALT Coins; and Market Cap. I’m listing the important things in bullet points below:
There are over 8K cryptocurrencies and over 300 crypto exchanges.
A crypto exchange is where you can buy, sell or trade cryptocurrency.
Before you purchase from the crypto exchange, know why you’re buying: longterm, short term, to exchange, etc.
Check the reputation of the crypto exchange before your purchase.
We went through the verification process required by some crypto exchanges (see Jan 18, 2022 post).
There is Bitcoin (BTC) and there are ALT coins. Every coin that isn’t BTC is an ALT Coin.
Familiarize yourself with a crypto research website, my fave is coingecko dot com
Market captilization (market cap) is the value of a company and is divided into categories: Large cap, mid cap and small cap. There are large cap coins, mid cap coins, and small cap coins.
