DECENTRALAND FLASHBACK!
Happy Friday everyone! Hope all is well with you today and you have plans to pamper yourself this weekend! As usual, we’ll do a recap of all that we talked about this week:
Decentraland is a virtual reality platform that runs on Ethereum (ETH), and it helps its users to explore virtual life. We get to experience and create things there as well as monetize content.
Decentraland is a decentralized platform not tied to anything or anyone anywhere; it is owned and run by the users.
The cryptocurrency used there is called MANA. You are allowed to set up an account on Decentraland without connecting your digital wallet, your activities there will be limited though.
Decentraland is divided into districts. There’s the Vegas district, the Live Music district, the Festival land with hot air balloons and Ferris wheel rides, there are casinos, places to play mini-golf, and a shopping mall.
At the shopping mall, there are new stores with the “coming soon” signs; the name of one of the stores is Crypto Pot Pie, I’m not sure if that has to do with digital food or if it’s the name of a cryptocurrency, lol!
You can customize your avatar; I was able to pick out earrings, sunglasses, shoes, and even a halfway decent hairstyle for my avatar (for free). But there are wearables for avatars that can be purchased, and designers of wearables make a lot of money selling their designs!
