METAMASK WALLET

So we’re still hyping ourselves up on decentralized financing (DeFi) and I’m hoping that we can all see the benefits of it.

I want to touch on Metamask which is a wallet for your crypto assets. It’s a must-have because your crypto needs to be kept safe. Metamask is a chrome extension but you don’t have to worry about the safety of your assets as long as you have your private crypto wallet keys or (seed phrases). Your private keys/seed phrases allow you to have security within the browser.

I don’t think I can say this enough: We aren’t storing our crypto on the crypto exchanges where we purchased them. We’re moving them to wallets, that way you are in control and can access them at any time. You don’t want to leave your crypto on an exchange and that exchange has to shut down for maintenance or something like that, how will you access your coins? Or, God forbid they get hacked? For sure you won’t be able to access it then!

Metamask is considered a hot wallet. Hot wallets are wallets that are always connected to the internet and allow you to send and receive crypto. There are desktop and mobile versions, PLEASE USE THE DESKTOP VERSION!

When you log into DeFi platforms you’ll need your Metamask wallet to interact with the decentralized sites because those sites don’t hold your crypto. Your crypto essentially stays in your custody until you want to lend or do some other kind of business with it. Other than that your coins stay in your wallet at all times.

So it’s bye-bye to traditional banking systems because anyone with an internet connection can access DeFi and participate. There is no application to fill out and you can connect a wallet into a protocol with no prior information about who you are, and access the crypto platforms of the world! It is absolutely amazing, and in my estimation, long overdue. Those who are unbanked can access it as well; more people in the world have a phone than have a bank account anyway.🤷🏾‍♀️ (I’m talking about globally, not just in the USA).
