INFLATION OR NOT, WE SHALL SEE THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD!

In economics, inflation is a general increase in the prices of goods and services in an economy. I’m sure you’ve heard about the inflation percentages, or you’ve most certainly seen/felt it in the supermarket. The reported inflation rate is 7% (although I believe it’s much higher).

When the general price level rises, each dollar buys you fewer goods and services. That means that if a gallon of milk usually sold for $3, but it’s now $4.50, you’ll still get a full gallon, but it will cost you more money. Multiply that times several grocery store items, and you’re now spending roughly $200 more per month for your food without an increase in salary.

So unless you received a 7% raise this year on your paycheck, you are now making less money this year than you did last year. And unless your savings account grew by 7% this year, you now have less savings this year than you did last year.

But all is not lost, we still have a lot to be thankful for and our God is always able! Sometimes we feel like we want to quit, and sometimes we feel like we need to get out of the race, but somehow we don’t! The Bible records King David in Psalm 27:13 saying that he really wanted to faint (quit, get out of the race) but he didn’t because he knew that he would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!

13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

So he encourages us to wait on the Lord, and to be of good courage. That means we’re not quitting, fainting, losing hope, or courage. Why? Because whether there is inflation or not, whether crypto prices dip or not, we stand strong in faith because WE SHALL SEE THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD!
