RESEARCHING BTC AND ALT COINS. WAIT A MINUTE …WHAT’S AN ALTCOIN?😩🤔

We already know that Bitcoin (BTC) is the name of the most popular cryptocurrency that there is, right? And today we’re finding out that any other coins besides BTC (even though they are also cryptocurrencies), are known as ALT COINS. Any crypto coin that is not Bitcoin, is an altcoin. So Polkadot, Cardano, Litecoin, Solana, Stella Lumens, Litecoin, Ripple, USD Coin etc. are all known as ALTCOINS. To make it easy on the mind, if the coin is not Bitcoin, it is an ALTCOIN, simple!🤷🏾‍♀️

There are many platforms to choose from in order to do the leg work/research on the crypto of your choice. There’s Coinmarketcap dot com, Coinmetrics dot io, and my fave, Coingecko dot com, to name a few. There are more, all you’ll need to do is google ‘crypto research tools,’ and see what pops up.

These research websites give information such as:

***The current price of the coin;

***A weekly look at what the coin did in the market place/how it performed;

***A list of the top 100 crypto currencies based on market cap. (Tomorrow we will discuss market cap, what it is, and why it is important)

Choose a platform to conduct your research (my personal favorite is Coingecko); and familiarize yourself with how things work on the platform of your choice. The more you pay attention to the different coins and how their prices fluctuate, and the more you become familiar with the crypto language, jargon and phrases … the simpler things will become to you!

It won’t happen overnight but you’ll eventually begin to feel better and become more comfortable as you deal with crypto. Take things one day at a time and don’t despise small beginnings; you’re still learning and growing whether you recognize it or not!
